Guitar Week with Miss Cathy

Join us for a special camp with Miss Cathy! She has lots of practical experience playing rhythm guitar and has found music to bring her great joy her entire life. It will be her absolute pleasure to share the love of music with your child and tailor their experience to the type of music they enjoy. We will use curriculum but also supplement with songs of their choice and tools to help them achieve their goals.

Read About Miss Cathy

I have had a love for music since I was a little girl singing in school and church.  As I listened to music on the radio as a young teen, I was drawn to the guitar and I asked for a guitar for my 16th Birthday.  I was given a Classical Guitar with an extremely wide neck and had difficulty maneuvering my small hand to make chords.  A lesson book was provided with the guitar and I was left on my own to figure out how to play the instrument. I learned a few chords and played for friends in school  I used my guitar to play in my daughter’s classrooms and in Girl Scout ceremonies as I was the Co-Leader of our Troop.

Worship music is my passion but I have a wide appreciation for many genres of music.

I began to be involved in our Praise Team at church and joined a Christian Band that had a mission to visit small churches who lacked a music program.  In 2010,  I took on the role as Worship Leader at our church where I played rhythm guitar and sang lead vocals. My greatest joy was working with teenagers in the church who wanted to join the worship team.  Eventually, they had their own group and led worship on their own.
